Harlow Statement Pale Gold and White Crown Headdress

Named after David Austin Roses, my Desdemona and Harlow Headpieces are beautiful and intricate pale gold and white floral bridal hair accessories. 

Though similar in shape and style to Desdemona, Harlow features brass tulip flower buds that have been painted with a very thin coat of white enamel paint to create the pale whitened gold effect on the brass. Masses of delicate glass pearls in a choice of colours along with hundreds of champagne opal crystals add a touch of subtle sparkle to this crown.

Harlow is a large statement wedding crown, she is asymmetrical in shape and, despite being quite a big headpiece, she is very lightweight and comfortable to wear.  

I have made the headdress on a rigid narrow metal headband for stability and comfort and built a wired structure that has been intricately and painstackingly beaded and wire wrapped.  These headdresses take several days to make. The beadwork is layered so that there is depth to the design so it doesn't just look like a row of beadwork standing upright on your head - the beadwork is incredibly complex.  Once the beadwork is complete, I wrap the headband in silk ribbon and add long lengths of silk to either end of the headband - these are removable. 

As this headdress is asymmetrical and wider on one side, please state which side of your head you would like the widest part of the beadwork to sit.

The perfect headdress for the bride looking for a statement headpiece that is unique, utterly beautiful and completely comfortable to wear all day. This headdress works equally well with long hair worn down, and updo or a short pixie crop.  It even works as a statement neckpiece worn with a simple gown.
